The Instant Pot Duo Crisp is everything you've come to love in an Instant Pot appliance, all in one gadget. It pressure cooks and air fries with the simple switch of a lid. With the standard Instant Pot lid, this multicooker can pressure cook, slow cook, and steam. With the air fryer lid, you can make some of your favorite crispy foods without using a separate small appliance for easy clean up.

1. Footprint

Footprint is a huge factor for a lot of people when they consider a kitchen appliance. No one wants something that takes up too much space, is hard to store, and is an eyesore in their kitchen.

If you already own a pressure cooker, this is roughly the same size as other 8 quart models. The only difference is the added height of the air fryer lid. If you're curious about the actual dimensions of this Instant Pot Duo Crisp, they are:

2. Capacity

So, just because you have a whole 6 or 8 quart Instant Pot that you're putting this on doesn't mean that you can air fry 6 or 8 quarts of food. Since the heating element and fan are only at the top, the top layer of food is all that will be cooked correctly.

Consider how much food you can comfortably put in the bottom of your Instant Pot without overlapping too much. I can comfortably fit about 14 breaded shrimp or a 10 chicken nuggets on the tray that it comes with.

It's very important to remember that the air frying capacity should always be a single layer with any air fryer lid. If air can't move between the pieces of food you're cooking, they simply will not crisp and give you the results you're looking for.

1. Decide which lid you need for the job (either the pressure cooker lid or the air fryer lid)
2. Place your ingredients and optional accessories inside of the Duo Crisp
3. Put the lid on
4. Select the cook setting that matches the function you're wanting to perform
5. Optionally, select the air fry or pressure cook button and select the time and temperature your recipe calls for
6. Press start
7. Wait for your food to finish cooking. Safely release any pressure in the pot (if pressure cooking) or place the hot air fryer lid on a silicone trivet
8. Enjoy your meal

5. Ease Of Cleaning

If you're not a fan of washing a sink full of dirty pots and pans after you cook a full meal, you're going to love how easy the Instant Pot Duo Crisp is to clean. As with any other Instant Pot, you can throw almost all of the parts that need to be cleaned into the dishwasher. The Instant Pot liner (the pot that you cook in) can be rinsed out and is completely dishwasher safe. The pressure cooker lid is also dishwasher safe on the top rack. Please note that the actual Instant Pot and the air fryer lid ARE NOT dishwasher safe.

Since these items never actually touch food while it is cooking, all you will need to do to clean them is wipe them down with a damp cloth to remove any food that may have splattered during the cooking process.

Here's are the simple steps you need to take to clean your Instant Pot Duo Crisp:

• Rinse any remaining food particles out of your Instant Pot liner
• Place your Instant Pot liner in the bottom rack of your dishwasher
• Put your Instant Pot lid on the top rack of your dishwasher
• Use a damp cloth (I like Skoy dishcloths) to wipe the outside of your Instant Pot
• If any food particles are on your air fryer lid's heating element, also wipe it down (once COMPLETELY COOLED) with a damp rag.

When you initially see the price of the Instant Pot Duo Crisp, you may have a little sticker shock. Especially if you're familiar with the price of other Instant Pot products.

Hear me out before you let the price scare you away. Remember that this is a multicooker. It performs the functions of up to 11 different kitchen gadgets all in one machine. If you factor in how much you spend on all of those things if you were to purchase them individually, the price of the Instant Pot Duo Crisp is actually quite a steal. You can grab one for less than what it would cost to purchase an electric pressure cooker and air fryer.
