1. Footprint
The overall footprint of this ace blender is quite small compared to some of my other kitchen gadgets. As far as blenders go, it's take up the same amount of room as any other traditional blender on your countertop.
One thing that you should take note of is that it is too tall to fit under your kitchen cabinets. So if you're hoping to tuck it away under your cabinets in between uses to keep it out of the way, you may be disappointed.
If you want the exact dimensions for the Instant Pot Blender are:
- 9.20 x 9.20 x 17.00 inches
2. Capacity
The Instant Ace Blender has a nice sized pitcher. It can hold up to 54oz. or 1.6L.
That being said, you will want to be careful not to fill your blender all the way to the top to avoid:
- Spillage
- Spraying
- Inconsistent Cooking
- Inconsistent Blending/Texture
3. Features
The Instant Pot Ace Blender comes with 8 different functions. Some of the functions use the heating element and some do not. Let me break it down to show you which ones use heat and which ones don't:
Heated Functions
- Soy Milk
- Rice Milk
- Soup
Non Heated Functions
- Smoothie
- Puree
- Crushed Ice
- Ice Cream
- Nut Milk
Some of these functions come with multiple settings. For instance, if you press the soup function twice, you will see two different settings for cooking soup.
Cook Time
If you're using the Instant Pot Ace Blender with one of its heated functions, you should know that the time that it displays on the timer will not be how long it takes for your food to finish.
The heating element takes time to warm up and this is not included in the cooking/blending time. Before the timer starts counting down, the liquids inside of the pitcher must reach 212F. Once they do, the cooking and blending process will start.
What Does The Instant Pot Ace Blender Come With?
The Instant Pot Blender comes with a few different accessories. They are:
- Cleaning brush - to help clean around the blades without cuting yourself.
- Straining bag - to strain out any of the pulp when making nut milk.
- Tamper - to push food down closer to the blades.
4. Ease Of Use
This Instant Pot Ace Blender is relatively easy to use, once you get the hang of it. It did take me a few tries to figure out how to get the lid on and off. But once you figure out how to do it, it's a breeze.
One thing I would like to point out is that the pitcher is made out of a VERY THICK glass. This makes it quite heavy.
Since this blender works with very hot liquids, the thick glass is a safety function and completely necessary. However, if you have problems with hand mobility, wrist strength, or wrist mobility, you should be aware that the pitcher alone is six pounds.
Using the Instant Pot Blender is incredibly simple. All you need to do to use it is:
- Remove the lid.
- Insert the item you're wanting to blend, mix, or cook.
- Press the button for the function you're wanting to use.
- Wait for the timer to count down to zero.
- Enjoy.
What Can I Make In The Instant Pot Ace Blender?
Basically, anything you want to cook and mix, puree, or blend. The possibilities are endless. Here are a few of my favorite things to make in my Instant Pot Ace Blender:
5. Ease Of Cleaning
The Instant Pot Blender is fairly easy to clean. It even has a built in function for it. You'll want to clean your blender immediately after each use to prevent food from sticking to and settling under the blades. Here's how you do it:
- Rinse out the inside of the glass pitcher.
- Fill half full with water.
- Squirt a small amount of dish detergent into the water.
- Secure lid on top.
- Press the Pulse/Clean button.
- Rinse thoroughly.
- Wipe down the outside of the Instant Pot blender with a wet rag.
It's important to note that you CAN NOT submerge your glass pitcher in water. Since the Instant Pot Blender uses a heating element, you will ruin the blender if you submerge it in water.
6. Price
Instead of commenting solely on overall price, I would like to use price vs. value to rate this Instant Pot Blender.
There are several other heated blenders on the market and they are much more expensive than this one. Some of the other heated blenders brands you can buy are:
If you're comparing the Instant Pot Ace Blender to other traditional blenders around the same price range, you get a lot more functionality for the price.
Instant Pot Ace Blender vs. Instant Ace Plus
The Instant Pot Ace Blender is the first generation of Instant Pot blenders. They wanted to try to improve on that model and came out with the Instant Ace Plus. Here are a few differences between the two:
- The Instant Ace Plus has 10 functions, whereas the Ace only has 8.
- Customizable time and temperature.
Instant Pot Ace Blender vs. Vitamix
In my opinion, this is an unfair comparison. The Vitamix blender is a professional grade blender that costs four times as much as the Instant Pot blender. If you want to know how it compares, here are a few things worth noting:
- Instant Pot Blender is much more affordable.
- They have the same capacity.
- Instant Pot Ace Blender warms the food with a heating element. The Vitamix warms the food by using the friction created by the spinning blades.
- The pitcher for the Ace Blender is much heavier than the Vitamix.
- The Vitamix is much louder.
- You can not submerge the glass pitcher in water to clean. You can with the Vitamix since it doesn't have a heating element.
Instant Pot Blender Vs. Ninja
The Ninja Foodi Cold and Ninja Foodi Cold and Hot blender is probably the closest Ninja blender that is comparable to the Instant Pot blender. It offers a lot of the same functionality but there are a few of the differences and similarities between the two:
- They both have the option to use hot and cold functions.
- The Instant Ace has 8 separate blending functions, while the Ninja Foodi Blender has 12.
- Instant Ace blender has a 54oz pitcher capacity and the Ninja Foodi Blender has a 64oz capacity.
- Both have durable glass pitchers.
Would I Buy This?
There are a few different things you should take into consideration when you're trying to determine if this is a good addition to your kitchen.
Buy This If
- You don't own a good blender, and are looking to get one. (Read more about how to choose a blender)
- You're looking for a great way to get more fruits and veggies in your diet.
- Soup is on regular rotation in your house.
Pass On This If
- If you already have a Vitamix, or another very high powered blender
- You don't like clutter on your counter tops and hate putting appliances away after each use.
Instant Pot Ace Blender Pros and Cons
Pros
So after playing with this for a while, there are a lot of pros.
- Makes a beautifully smooth soup.
- It makes the soup MUCH hotter than other blenders that claim to do the same thing with friction.
- It is a lot less noisy than the other blenders out there.
- It's made of very sturdy materials so it doesn't look or feel cheap.
- A really well-rounded blender that will last a long time and provide you with a lot of functions.
Cons
Some of these are just a personal preference for me, but this is an unbiased review, so I'm giving you my unbiased opinion.
- You can't adjust the temperature and it takes a long time to heat up.
- While the fact that it's sturdy and heavy is in the pro list, it's also on the con list for me. I have Rheumatoid Arthritis, so if I'm having a flare-up I know I wouldn't be able to lift the pitcher.
- When it overflows, it can be disastrous. Lots of deep cleaning the kitchen and the blender. Be careful not to overfill.

My Instant Pot works but any liquid in the pot leaks out of the bottom in the middle of the canister. I bought it around Christmas 2019

Hi Urvashi,
Thanks for the review. Will the Ace blender make cilantro chutney and dosa batter? Not really planning to use the soup option but this blender is much cheaper than the vitamix.
