Why You Should Trust My Ninja Foodi Grill Review

1. Footprint

It's BIG. I know I say a lot of appliances are large, but this Ninja Foodi Grill might be the biggest appliances I own. On top of being large, it's also heavy. Here are the size specifications for it:

• 17 x 14 x 11 Inches
• 24 Pounds

Not only is it large, but you also have to be mindful of where you use it. It's not an appliance you can tuck under your kitchen cabinets and use it where it sits. Like most other kitchen gadgets that can air fry, the Ninja Foodi Grill has a vent that allows heat to escape from the back. If it's pushed back against a wall or a cabinet, it could damage the grill, the paint on your wall, or your cabinets.

If you're not planning on using this appliance often or just prefer not to have clutter on your kitchen counters, be aware that because of it's massive size and weight, it will not be a breeze to move and store.

Ninja Foodi vs. Ninja Foodi Grill

They're both called a Ninja Foodi, so what is the difference? Well, quite a lot actually. Don't make the mistake of buying the wrong appliance. Here's what's different:

• Ninja Foodi
  • An Air Fryer and Pressure Cooker Combination
• Ninja Foodi Grill
  • An Air Fryer and Grill Combination

While they're both fantastic appliances (You can see my Ninja Foodi Review here) they will not perform the same functions.

2. Capacity

As you would expect from an appliance with this large of a footprint, the capacity is also very large. The internal cooking space is 10 inches x 10 inches and holds up to 6 quarts at a time.

3. Features / Ease Of Use

The Ninja Foodi Grill is really quite a versatile piece of kitchen equipment. Here are the functions it is able to perform:

• Grill
• Roast
• Air Fry
• Bake
• Dehydrate

Is It Easy To Use?

The Ninja Foodi Grill comes with five preset functions along with the ability to adjust time and temperature to fit any recipe you may want to try. It also lets you select the temperature you want the grill function to cook at with the push of a button. The presets are:

• Air Crisp
• Dehydrate
• Roast
• Bake
• Grill - with four additional grill temperature settings

What Does It Come With?

With all of the different inserts that this Ninja Foodi Grill comes with, you'll be excited to try them all. It is important that when you're trying out all of the different inserts that you put them inside of the inner cooking tray the correct way. There are small notches on the inside of the tray, and if you place one of the other inserts inside of the tray the wrong way, it will get stuck. And I mean STUCK.

So save yourself some headache by not making the same mistake I did and pay attention to how you're putting the inserts inside of the cooking tray. The inserts it comes with are:

• Roasting Rack
• Air Frying Basket
• Grill Grate

Some of the other items included with the Ninja Foodi Grill are:

• Splatter Shield - to prevent grease from hitting the heating element and causing smoke.
• Temperature Probe - Allows you to set a temperature you want your food cooked to and will automatically end the cooking time once the food reaches that temperature.
• Brush - For easy cleaning.

What Can I Cook In This Indoor Grill?

With all of the different inserts you can use to cook in the Ninja Foodi Grill, you'll be able to cook just about anything you would normally grill, roast, bake, or air fry. Here are some things that cook wonderfully in this indoor grill/air fryer.

• Bacon
• Meatloaf
• Bratwurst
• Egg Rolls

Honestly, so much more.

Will The Meat I Grill Have Grill Marks?

No, your meat will not have grill marks. But, don't get discouraged by this. I promise you can cook a steak that is just as delicious without the grill marks. Here's why:

The grill marks that you may be accustomed to on your steak are actually just a caramelizing of the meat against the grill. It adds a burst of flavor to your steak. This Ninja Foodi Grill produces the same kind of caramelization on your steak, just not in a pretty uniform pattern.

Will My Meat Taste Like I Grilled It?

That depends on your usual method of grilling steak. If you're someone that uses wood chips when you cook with an outdoor grill, your meat will not taste the same. Wood chips add an aroma to your meat as it cooks.

This Ninja Foodi Grill does not have a place to add wood chips for additional flavor.

4. Ease Of Cleaning

Thanks to the included Splatter Guard, this Ninja Foodi Grill is a breeze to clean. If you're cooking something especially greasy (like bacon or meatloaf) you'll enjoy not needing to worry about scrubbing the heating element after cooking.

As for the inner cooking insert, the splatter guard, and all of the different cooking pans that it comes with, they're dishwasher safe. So after you make your favorite recipe or steak, just wipe away the added debris with a paper towel and pop everything in the dishwasher.

5. Price

I won't lie. This is a fairly expensive kitchen gadget. BUT, you have to remember it has the functionality to replace or work as several kitchen gadgets.

If you're wanting to reduce the amount of clutter on your counter tops, or just want the option of grilling all year long in the comfort of your kitchen, this is a great investment piece.

If you're just looking for an air fryer or dehydrator, there are more affordable options.

Would I Buy This

This Ninja Foodi Grill is an amazing machine, however, it might not be great for everyone. Here are a few noteworthy things to help you decide if this indoor grill is right for you:

Buy The Ninja Foodi Grill If

• You want to replace several of your other appliances with one that offers several cooking functions.
• You live in an area where you can't grill all year long due to the weather.
• Want a quality kitchen gadget that is durable and easy to use.

Pass On the Ninja Foodi Grill If

• You're on a budget.
• You have a small kitchen or cooking space.
• You will only use one or two of the functions it offers.
• Live in a warm climate and grill outside all year long.

Pros and Cons of The Ninja Foodi Grill

Pros

• Allow you to grill inside if you live in an apartment.
• Great for grilling when there is inclement weather.
• Large capacity so you can cook a large amount of food at once.
• The temperature probe function prevents you from overcooking food.
• Replaces several other kitchen gadgets in one machine.

Cons

• Expensive. This is an investment piece.
• A large footprint makes it a tight fit for smaller kitchens or cooking spaces.
• Not a good option for children to use.
