Wondering which Instant Pot accessories you need? Here’s a tried and tested list of must-have accessories-- as well as some that may just be nice to have. The only accessories included here are ones that I have personally tried and found acceptable.

What Are The Best Instant Pot Accessories?
While it isn't essential to get a whole lot of different pressure cooker accessories, I do find that having a few little pots and pans, steamer racks, yogurt thingies, all really help you get the most out of your electric pressure cooker.
I tend to use an Instant Pot Ultra and an Instant Pot Mini. So all the accessories listed below work in both.
Interestingly, many of these also work for Air fryers so I tend to use the same pans for both gadgets.
Note that all the accessories listed here are ones I personally use, so they're tried and tested. I haven't listed anything that I haven't personally tried. That's the value in my reviews over many others you might find on the internet. Please also note that these are affiliate links but that I have not been compensated for recommending ANY of these items listed below.
What Accessories Come With An Instant Pot?
- Stainless steel steam rack with handles to lower and lift food
- Condensation collector
- Rice paddle
- Soup spoon
- Measuring cup
Your Instant Pot comes with the basic things you'll need to start cooking, but if you want to make the most out of your cooking experience, you'll likely want to grab a few of the accessories I've listed as my favorites below.
What Are The Best Accessories For The Instant Pot?
Amazon Instant Pot Accessories
Axe SickleSilicone Oven Mitts
Best money you will spend to keep your hands from getting burned or spilling your dinner as you try to get it out of the pot. They’re small, they fit all hand sizes, and they fit inside my flatware drawer. You really don’t want to use regular cloth mitts as the water from the IP will permeate through the traditional oven mitts and burn you.
Genuine Instant Pot Silicone Steam Rack
This rack isn’t very high, but it has nice handles that eliminate the need for foil slings that I don’t trust (actually it’s not the foil’s fault, I don’t trust myself to make one that won’t break, taking my cheesecake to the floor with it).
Genuine Instant Pot Silicone Springform Loaf Pan
This silicone loaf pan is one of ther few rectangular pans for the Instant Pot. I find it works well for things that are not entirely liquid, such as meatloaf. For things that are runnier than that, the pan leaks unless you either cover with parchment paper on the inside, or cover with foil on the outside. Also, don’t do what I did, which is try to broil in this pan too close to the heat source. It melts under direct high heat.
QooWare Silicone Food Lids - Set of 5
I used to use foil to cover all the pots I used inside the Instant Pot but it’s quite wasteful. I like this packet of lids because they’re not too expensive, and they tend to fit a variety of pots. The silicone helps it to form a slight seal which keeps moisture out.
The Steam Boss - Steam Release Diverter
Never worry about steam releasing and damaging the paint on your walls or your cabinets. Use this steam diverter on your Instant Pot to control which direction the steam is released from your pot.
Instant Pot Cheat Sheet Magnet Set
This magnetic chart contains all of the most common cook times for the Instant Pot. It attaches easily to the outside of the Instant Pot or your fridge.
Trudeau Silicone Vegetable Steamer with Handles
I’ve been cooking with pressure cookers for a long time. I bought this Instant Pot steamer basket in April 2015 according to Amazon, and I’m still using this. I love the little button on top to hold the basket in a curve to prevent the contents from falling out, but the little handles also work as slings, so I highly recommend this basket.
Household Stainless Steel Cooking Ware Steaming Rack Stand
I use this one all the time. The IP comes with a rack, and one with handles, but I like this Instant Pot Trivet better because it’s taller and it keeps whatever I’m cooking out of the water. I can also use this when I’m trying to stack things on top, so if I’m making a pot-in-pot thing with beans at the bottom and the rice on the top, this higher steamer rack keeps my second item out of the soup at the bottom.
KitchenAid KHB2351CU 3-Speed Hand Blender
I use this for so many of my dishes like Butter Chicken, Poblano Soup, etc. and while this is a little more expensive than some of the others, I think it’s sturdy and totally worth it. I use it daily for something or the other in my kitchen, including protein shakes.
Euro Cuisine GY1920 Glass Jars for Yogurt Maker
I have two kinds of jars that I use to make Vietnamese Yogurt or the Smooth Cardamom Yogurt. Of the two, I like this one a little better because the sides of the jars are smooth and so it’s easier to get the last bit of yogurt out with a spoon. About 5-6 of these fit at one time into my Duo, which leaves about 4-5 more that sit out until the first batch is done.
Cuisipro Donvier Yogurt Cheese Maker
If you want to make small quantities of Greek yogurt this Cuisipro Donvier is the way to go. The screen is sturdy, it cleans up really well with just a good rinse, and it doesn’t take up half your fridge. The insert is also slightly slanted, so your yogurt isn’t sitting in the whey once it starts to drain. I really love this guy.
Bormioli Rocco Quattro Stagioni 5 oz. Canning Jar, Set of 12
This is the second set of jars I use for Yogurt and they’re awfully cute as well. I use a mix of the ones listed above and these to hold a batch of yogurt at our house.
ekovana Stackable Steamer Insert Pans with sling
I have something very similar that I got in India, and I’d suggest you look at the local Indian Grocery store for a cheaper alternative, but if there’s not one close to you then these stackers are a great addition. They’re great for cooking multiple things at the same time. I usually do dal and rice when I’m cooking Indian food.
Fat Daddio's Round Cheesecake Pan
This popular insert can be used for a lot more than Cheesecake. I’ve made a Poblano quiche, bread pudding, corn pudding, etc. in these types of pans in addition to regular cheesecake of course. They’re really quite handy to have around.
Instant Pot Sealing Ring Clear
A lot of people have different rings for sweet, savory, etc. I don’t. I use the same ring for everything. Just because the ring smells of something doesn’t mean your food will, so I don’t mess with it.But if you’d like to have separate rings, these would work.
Genuine Instant Pot Ceramic Non-Stick Interior Coated Inner Cooking Pot
I didn’t think I would like this one as much as I do, but it’s actually quite handy for things that stick, or could stick, such as rice with tomatoes, mac and cheese, pasta with tomato sauce, etc.
It’s also handy for something cooked with sugar, as that can get sticky. The pot does clean up like a dream, and at their low prices, I think it makes a good addition and an inexpensive way to get an additional liner for your pot.
Instant Pot Stainless Steel Inner Cooking Pot
If you’re worried about the ceramic coating on the liner above, or if you want to use steel utensils etc, you might want a stainless liner. It’s great to be able to cook things back to back without having to wash one out first.
Instant Pot Glass Lid
I must say I do love my glass lid. It’s very handy for slow cooking, and it’s very handy for when you make yogurt. Especially if you worry about your yogurt taking on the smells of whatever you cooked in there before, this lid is quite useful to have. Besides, you get to stare at your food when it is slow cooking, which I enjoy. Weird, but true.
Egg Steamer Rack
Holds your eggs in place so the steam doesn't cause them to move under pressure and crack. Also helps them cook evenly.
Instant Pot Mini Mitts
These mitts help prevent burning your hands and help you grip any slippery pots that might be wet from being under pressure. They're a nice large size.
Pressure Cooker Accessories Set
A great beginner's accessory bundle if you're wanting to jump headfirst into using your Instant Pot and don't want to purchase everything separately.
Silicone Lid For Instant Pot
Fits perfectly on your Instant Pot for storage or travel. It washes easily and is really easy to use.
Nordic Ware Bundt Pan Formed, 3-Cup, Red
This 3 cup bundt pan is so tiny and cute. It makes beautiful desserts and is the perfect size to fit inside your Instant Pot or Instant Pot Mini Duo.
Euro Cuisine GY50 Greek Yogurt Maker
This is great for making larger batches of Greek yogurt. If you have a larger family, or just eat a lot of yogurt, this is the one you will want.
Flower Cake Bundtlette Pan
This makes absolutely beautiful desserts and fits perfectly inside of your Instant Pot. It's also nonstick, so it's super simple to clean.
7' Inch Non-stick Springform Bundt Pan
This is one of my favorites. It makes gorgeous desserts and the pan itself is pretty too. Plus it comes with silicone mitts and a trivet.
Picowe 2Pack Condensation Collector Cup
I don't know about you, but I'm always losing track of this tiny little piece of plastic. If you're always misplacing yours, or it has cracked or become discolored over time, grab this two-pack of replacements.
Bar Keepers Friend
The best way to keep your pots and pans clean without using a lot of elbow grease.
Baby Food Storage Container Freezer Trays | Egg Bite Molds
Ok. I know. These are labeled as baby food storage. But they work like a dream to make egg bites, keto wontons, and even mini meatloaves.
Accessories For Instant Pot on Amazon
It can be hard to find the right size pots, pans, and other accessories that fit easily into the Instant Pot. My favorite place to buy accessories is Amazon because of how easy it is to search by size. Plus, if you have Amazon Prime, they're waiting on your doorstep in a flash.
Would I Buy These Instant Pot Accessories?
Not only would I buy them, I have. I love every single one of them, or I wouldn't have added them to my list. If I had to choose my favorites, they would be:
- Steamer Basket (The green silicone one) - Great for steaming veggies and makes pulling smaller dishes out of your Instant pot a breeze.
- Additional Instant Pot Liner (Either the stainless steel liner or Instant Pot Ceramic Inner Pot versions) - If you only have one pot, or are trying to meal prep, you can simply take the liner you just cooked with and pop in a new one and get right back to cooking.
- Silicone Oven Mitts (I prefer how the smaller blue ones fit on my hands) - The liner holds heat for a long time. So if you're trying to transfer food from the liner to a serving dish, or remove a dish you used for pot in pot cooking, these mitts make safe and easy.
- Yogurt Maker (The smaller Cuisipro Donvier, since I'm just cooking for two) - This is great for making yogurt in your Instant Pot. It makes it more affordable, and I prefer the taste of homemade.

Hello and thank you for such useful information! I was a little confused tho, about which of the above accessories are specific to the 6 quart vs the 3 quart. I just got the 3 quart, and am particularly looking for yogurt jars, since the ones Instant Pot sells specify they are for 5 quart or larger pots.
Also interested in the PIP accessories.
Thanks!
Alice

You can’t really fit too many different sorts of pans in the 3 quart. Basically you can use a low rack, and any pot that’s about 6x2 round. The yogurt jars will fit but you may get fewer in at a time.

New to IP- Duo Plus 6qt. Love it- but i find that I have two form pans. One has interchangeable Bundt feature. A few recipes I have tried asked to wrap whole pan in foil. Lasagna, and cheesecake, meatloaf, in particular. Or cover with foil - cake so far. Seems so wasteful- but oh so necessary! So much liquid had been caught in the foil.
My question- what can I use to wrap the bottoms of the form pans- other than foil that will work? Assuming that it is to keep liquid from running out- or is it to keep moisture from seeping in- in the case of the cheesecake?
And to cover the top of the containers- the various silicone tops, will work instead - is what I understand you saying. Thank you much in advance!
My husband and I have used so much foil the last few months, I was just trying to find a good alternative to what seemed like a one use only method.
URVASHI PITRE says
You might try lining the INSIDE of the pan with parchment paper to keep it from leaking.

FYI The description for the silicone loaf pan is identical to the one for the silicone steamer rack above.

Love our instant pots.We have all 3 sizes (3,6,8). We have had not problem finding accessories for the 6 & 8 qt ones. However having difficulty find ones for the 3 qt. Did find an inner pot but no glass lid or silicone cover. What we would like is additional rack. If not available what are the alternative when one is need for a 2nd level when you don't want all both cooking levels to mix (i.e meat at bottom and vegetables above)? Do have a collapsible steamer that fits the 3 at but don't like just to set it on top of the bottom level...too messy.

I bought a 3 qt Duo Mini and need a tempered glass lid to fit. Do you know what size the lid should be? Will a 3 qt crock pot lid work?
Thank you for your informative blog!
URVASHI PITRE says
You know I don’t know about a lid. I may need to play around and try a few.
Laurie McFadden says
Take your inner pot with you to a thrift store -- typically they have LOTS of lids there. I picked up one for my Mini for $1.00.

Great idea! Thank you!

Just ordered the mini as I`m a senior and alone so should be just right for my limited cooking. Wondering what accessories I should have.
URVASHI PITRE says
Really the only ones that fit are 6x3 or 6x2 pans. I use the fat daddio cake pans in the mini

I just bought my Duo mini and I am looking for appropriately sized accessories for PIP. Also would like to purchase a second SS liner and silicone sealing ring. I have not found them for sale for the 3qt size. Thanks for the great videos.
URVASHI PITRE says
They don’t have Liners etc for it yet. I hear they will have them Soon. As to inner Accessories anything that is 6 x 2 or 3 inches at most will fit.
JC says
Hi,
Do you have links for the Mini as well? I just bought on on sale but I would like to use your links to buy all the accessories. Thanks!

The loaf pan doesn't have a description of how you use it and I am curious. Just got my IP, going to break it in tonight!
URVASHI PITRE says
Lemme go check that! Usually to make egg loaf and I've also made a cake in it.
